Jeep full on conversion
This old Jeep had things done the wrong way round, It had a Turbo Diesel engine fitted then found it had no brakes, and when you did brake it threw the jeep across the other side of the high way
Can you fix it because no one else can ? yes we can disc conversion here we come
I race cars , driving this at 40 miles per hour scared me more than my race car at full speed. In fairness to the owner he spent the money and now it drives like a jeep should.
The rear brakes we kept as drum brakes there are no new parts for this Jeep so we put the cylinder out of a Toyota and the shoes out of a pick up truck looks like they were made to be there after this we now had rear brakes but they were very poor. After we bled them we found out why.
This was also out of its brain and fell apart as we removed it so I think the replacment part was also Toyota to try and keep it original looking this was as close as I could find. The new one was a little larger than the old one , so we bled them again and guess what
Come on god there is nothing left that is old everything we put on was brand new. The rear brakes were now perfect, so all that was left to do was just take the drum brakes off the front fit disc brakes and callipers then pray she is good. Ill tell the truth I forgot to take the photos and so this is all I have. I was so pleased to get it all finished that the owner was screaming for his truck back. I would have liked a few more days on it but there you go
The new front discs were massive off a 4×4 Toyota pick up. There was a few other jobs we did on this as well to make it go round corners a little better but I can say with hand on hart the owner was more than happy with the job we did for him. There was not a single split pin in this car how someone never died in it ill never know .
